Happy New Year 2015 !!!!

2014 - is a year in the past...2015 is the year ahead of us.
I like to pick a "verse of the year" to think on, and pray about.
Zephaniah 3:17 has been one that I have recently come to love and so I have picked it for my
2015 year verse.

"The LORD your God is in your midst,
a mighty one who will save;
 he will rejoice over you with gladness;
he will quiet you by his love;
he will exult over you with loud singing. "

God says He is with me....
He is my Salvation....
He rejoices over me with gladness....
(my favorite part) He will quiet me with His love...
He will exult over me with LOUD singing!

Take a minute out of your busy life
and contemplate what God promises in this verse.
YOU are important to Him...
you aren't a number, a file, a nothing...
you ARE a very special someone loved by an Awesome God
 who gives each one His Salvation thru faith in His Son Jesus,
 He rejoices over YOU! He will quiet your hurting heart with His love...
and if that isn't enough...
He will exult over YOU with LOUD singing!
 Not just a whisper or quiet hum...a LOUD loving voice!

2014 was a year of 1st in so many ways for our family.
I am looking forward to 2015 and am excited over what God
will do with our family as we look to serve Him each day!

Choose Joy Today!

" And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."
Galatians 6:9

Over the past couple of months, I have been leading a ladies Bible study and we have been going through Sarah May & Sally Clarkson's book "Desperate - Hope for the Mom Who Needs to Breath."
So many points they bring out and talk about hit close to home for me. As moms, we love our husbands and children and want the very best for them, and give a lot of ourselves to see our family happy. In doing so, it can become wearisome and without strength from the Lord and from people He brings into our lives we can become discouraged and tired.
I love this picture that my husband took on one of his many trips. It reminds me of our role as parents. There are ups and downs in the journey. There are beautiful spots where you can see the glory of God shining through. There are also hidden caverns that are hard to see and you wonder if it really matters what you do next. This is where I am reminded of the verse above....don't become weary in doing what is right....you will reap if you don't faint.
One of the excerpt that I gleaned from our Bible study book was this, "The attitude I adopt every day has the potential to affect the whole demeanor of my home. Consequently, a vital part of maturing is deciding to be content through obedience, and to cultivate a spirit of joy by choice. Feelings go up and down; it is how we choose to respond to feelings that will determine our ultimate attitude."
WOW! Talk about hard work! It is easy to become weary in choosing to be joyful regardless of how grumpy a child is, or how many times you got up in the night with a sick child, or how high the pile of laundry is, or how messy the house seems to be.
The road ahead of you is full of so much potential. Choose to walk with the Lord and allow Him to fill your heart with the joy only He can give.
Choose JOY today....Jesus, Others, Yourself!

This is one of my favorite pictures of my youngest son and his friend.
At 4 years old, life holds great adventure around every corner!
Life at 39, still holds adventures of different kinds.
As I look at this picture, I am reminded of the fact I have a huge responsibility
to train this little life and it is quickly going by!

Take time today, to stop and play cars with that growing little boy God has placed in your home.
Stop and join in in an activity your smiling daughter is enjoying.
Make a difference by taking time to let your child know you care!
